This course includes a logical, concise discussion of algebraic vocabulary, real number systems, inequalities, and solving of equations, including linear systems. The students receive extensive experience solving story problems which brings practical application of algebra to the real world.
All 7th grade students and all students who are either new to Star or taking their first junior high or high school math course with us will be required to take a math placement test. This assessment will be specific to the course in which the student is being enrolled and requires a passing score of 70% or better to sustain enrollment in the course. Testing will take place in early summer. You will be contacted to sign up for a date and time.
