In this course students learn the fundamentals of pre-algebra. Strategic exercises enable them to navigate through their course work and on to higher mathematics courses. Topics include integers, rational numbers, variables, solving equations, and much more. Course topics include Newton’s laws, work and energy, waves and optics, electricity, magnetism, and more.
All 7th grade students and all students who are either new to Star or taking their first junior high or high school math course with us will be required to take a math placement test. This assessment will be specific to the course in which the student is being enrolled and requires a passing score of 70% or better to sustain enrollment in the course. Testing will take place in early summer. You will be contacted to sign up for a date and time.
