This course is designed for students who need one more year of math fundamentals and will prepare them for Pre-Algebra. It provides a strong basis in mastering fundamental mathematical concepts, which include: whole numbers, multiplying and dividing fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, decimals, ratio and proportion, percent, and measurement.
All 7th grade students and all students who are either new to Star or taking their first junior high or high school math course with us will be required to take a math placement test. This assessment will be specific to the course in which the student is being enrolled and requires a passing score of 70% or better to sustain enrollment in the course. Testing will take place in early summer. You will be contacted to sign up for a date and time.
