This 3-in-1 course covers British Literature within its historical and Biblical context. Students will develop their critical thinking skills through reading and discussing the ideas of British authors from the early Anglo-Saxon through contemporary periods. In addition to reading and discussing the works of British authors, students will also understand how Christianity spread and changed throughout the history of Great Britain and its influence on culture and politics as well as how culture and politics influenced it.
Students will build and demonstrate their understanding of content through active reading strategies, unit reviews, tests, and creative projects, as well as enhance their composition skills through imitative, expository, and analytical writing. They will also develop and produce a college-level research paper.
This course meets twice a week and is equal to 30 credits total (10 credits in British Literature, 10 in Bible and 10 in Critical Thinking).
