Jennifer Franklin

Jennifer Franklin graduated with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a minor in English from Westmont College. After earning her teaching credential from Concordia University she taught elementary school for six years. Jennifer is married to Matt and they have six kids ages 10-20 whom they have homeschooled for 20 years.

The journey of homeschooling led their family to BYA in 2010 where their efforts were bolstered by excellent academics and an authentic community of like-minded families. Jennifer will be teaching English 8 while three of her kids participate in various other Star classes, so this is a family affair! Literature, Writing and even Grammar are subjects she enjoys teaching. Her aim is to help students make observations and draw all kinds of applications from texts while also using God’s gift of language to express themselves as they communicate in written form. In her free time Jennifer loves going to the beach, taking long walks, cheering for her kids court side, road tripping, and spending time with family.
