History

Eric and Robin Slagle moved to Southern California from Texas in 1990. In 1991 they started their homeschool journey as they began homeschooling their four children. In 1997, they enrolled their oldest son in a pilot homeschool program through Biola University which later became known as Biola Youth Academics.

Robin began working for Biola Youth Academics as a campus coordinator in 2001 in Yorba Linda and was promoted to Director of Academics and PSP. With news of BYA’s closure in 2020, Eric and Robin followed God’s direction to continue offering quality Christian courses for the homeschool community, and opened Star Homeschool Academy in April, 2020.  Eric and Robin are honored that God has called them to continue to serve the Christian homeschooling community.
